Bamboo Lantern Workshop
Light up your own creation in nature.
Welcome!
I’m Shinichi Mihara, a Bamboo Light Meister.
Welcome to a little-known bamboo grove experience!
This is more than sightseeing—here you’ll enjoy a genuine, hands-on adventure.
First, step into the bamboo forest, cut a piece of bamboo with your own hands, and craft a one-of-a-kind bamboo lantern.
The design is entirely up to you. Let your imagination run free and light up your own world.
Getting here is part of the adventure, too.
From Tokyo or Ueno, take the Joban Line Rapid to Kashiwa Station.
Important: Rapid trains do not stop at the final station!
At Kashiwa, transfer to the local (all-stops) train—your “first mission.”
Get off at the next station, Kita-Kashiwa, and you’re at the gateway to the bamboo grove.
It’s a serene, beautiful world you won’t find in guidebooks.
Finding this page means you’re lucky!
This experience offers inspiration and relaxation you can’t get in the city.
Come join us—let nature and gentle light refresh your spirit.
